NEMA 23 is a stepper motor with a faceplate size of 2.2x2.2 inches (56x56mm) and a 1.8° step angle (200 steps/revolution). Each phase draws 2.8 A at 3.2 V, allowing for a holding torque of 10.1 kg-cm. NEMA 23 Stepper motor is generally used in Printers, CNC machines, Linear actuators, and hard drives. As the stepper motor draws a high current, instead of controlling it directly using H-bridges, use an appropriately powerful stepper motor driver. To know how to make this motor rotate we should look into the coil diagram below.

Drive unipolar stepper motors as bipolar stepper motors with a simple wiring reconfiguration - Analog - Technical articles - TI E2E support forums

As you can see from the above diagram this motor has four wires in different colours. This motor can be made to rotate only if the coils are energized in a logical sequence. This logical sequence can be programmed using a microcontroller by designing a digital circuit.
